FAQs

  • How long does it take to see everything at the museum?

You should plan to spend at least two or three hours during your visit to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. But, with hiking trails, an aquarium, gardens, an aviary, an art gallery, two gift shops, and restaurants, there are plenty of things to pique your interest and keep you engaged much longer. With so many attractions and activities, you may just want to stay for a whole day.
  • What should I wear when I visit the museum?

With abundant outdoor exhibits, gardens and trails, the Desert Museum is primarily an open air experience. Visitors should wear a hat, sunscreen, loose, layered clothing, and comfortable walking shoes. If you're visiting during colder months, you should bring a jacket or coat. Drinking fountains and shaded seating areas are located throughout the museum grounds and all of the museum's indoor exhibits are air conditioned.
