The University of Arizona Wind Symphony will perform its second concert of the semester. The Wind Symphony is under the direction of Professor Chad Shoopman, who was recently appointed associate director of bands at the Fred Fox School of Music, as well as director of athletic bands. Sharing the podium will be Yudai Ueda, assistant director of athletic bands.

The UA Wind Symphony's program will showcase a wide variety of works from a number of well-known composers in the wind band genre. The concert will open with "Mother Earth" by David Maslanka, who is a long-time friend of the UA bands program.

Other works to be featured on this program include "Ride" by Samuel R. Hazo, "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" by Richard Wagner, Aram Khachaturian's "Armenian Dances," and John William's "March of the Rebellion" from "The Force Awakens." Also on the program is Frank Ticheli's "An American Elegy," which was written in memory of the victims in the Columbine High School shooting.Audience:
