Arizona Inn Named a 2026 Historic Hotels of America® Awards of Excellence Nominee Finalist

Tucson's historic Arizona Inn, founded by Isabella Greenway in 1930, has been named a finalist for Historic Hotels of America New Member of the Year.

TUCSON, Arizona. - August 10, 2026 - Arizona Inn, the historic Tucson retreat founded in 1930 by Arizona trailblazer Isabella Greenway, has been named a 2026 Historic Hotels of America® Annual Awards of Excellence Nominee Finalist for New Member of the Year.

Arizona Inn is one of only eight historic hotels nationwide selected as a finalist in the category this year, following its induction into Historic Hotels of America in 2026.

More than 700 nominations were submitted across 14 categories for the 2026 Historic Hotels Annual Awards of Excellence, which recognize exemplary historic hotels, hoteliers and leadership practices demonstrating exceptional stewardship, preservation and commitment to keeping America’s historic places and their stories alive.

For Arizona Inn, the recognition arrives during a meaningful new chapter in a story that began nearly a century ago.

Founded by Isabella Greenway in 1930, Arizona Inn grew from a deeply human idea: creating opportunity and meaningful work while building a place of beauty, hospitality and belonging in the Arizona desert. Nearly 100 years later, its pink walls, gardens, historic architecture and enduring sense of place remain unmistakably its own.

“Being recognized by Historic Hotels of America so soon after joining this remarkable collection is deeply meaningful to us,” said Cassandra Quirk. “Arizona Inn has never been about recreating the past. It is about caring for what has endured and ensuring that the spirit Isabella Greenway created here continues to be felt by generations to come. This nomination belongs to every person who has helped steward that legacy.”

“Historic Hotels of America is delighted to recognize Arizona Inn in being nominated for Historic Hotels of America New Member of the Year,” said Lawrence P. Horwitz, Executive Vice President, Historic Hotels of America® and Historic Hotels Worldwide®. “This hotel is part of a select group of nominee finalists in a number of categories. It is an honor to be nominated and recognized.”

Winners will be announced during the 2026 Historic Hotels Annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony & Gala on October 15, 2026, at Williamsburg Lodge, Autograph Collection in Williamsburg, Virginia.
